A trip to the theatre: Les Misérables

So I got the chance to go and see Les Mis the worlds longest running west end musical with my friend Alia at the Queen's theatre on Thursday. I am a total theatre buff but I don't go as often as I would like although this is my 3rd time seeing Les Mis! There was a offer for cheap tickets on lastminute.com so we jumped at the chance to get nosebleed seats yay 0.o. What with the film version being released, Les Mis is very hot right now and being shown to a totally fresh audience.

Although it didn't touch me as it has in the past. The show was really great and the cast in general were tight but I have to say a big shout out to Archie Stevens I believe who played little Gavroche, so cute. Gerónimo Rauch (Jean Valjean) for me really came into his own about an hour in. Liam Tamne (Enjolras), Linzi Hateley (Madame Thénardier) and Cameron Blakely (Thénardier) definitely stole the show and entertained.

Now to see the film version everyone is raving about and finish the book I have started to re-read for about the 10th time  lol!

Until next time ..........

My SS13 wardrobe cross over staples

Hey Dolls, the 1950's, femininity, futurism and utility seemed to be massive trends at the SS13 London Fashion Week. Plaid and patchwork was very evident and the use of vinyl in utility added a beautiful textured and advanced  luxe feel. I love the way these trends are so distinctive yet can be blended and meshed together with ease.

All the pieces above can be incorporated into your SS13 outfits to add an accent of trends from the London Fashion Week. They are both functionally and wearable in everyday life. You can go down the alternative sexy route and substitute a blouse for the denim shirt and rock it with the plaid skirt and the futuristic boots. Or the leather skater skirt, blush coloured blouse and the hot pink brogue creepers and for night those block heels. I am really loving the nod to under cover spring gothic which slightly mimics our weather.

I am going to try and save money this year (hahaaaaaaha fingers crossed). I am not a natural saver so my compromise is to use more accent pieces from my wardrobe. All items shown above less than £30  (except the Charlotte Olympia Esmeralda pumps), so really won't break the bank. What are you guys hoping to incorporate into SS13?

I can't wait to see whats will be shown in febs AW13 shows!

Until next time ..........

Body Candy (Jewellery Haul)

I don't know about you guys but I like my jewellery to be a statement regardless of size, playfulness or subtlety. I went for what turned into a mini shop blitz with my friend and I got all of these pieces for less than £3.50 each YAAAAAAAY. I have voiced my disappointment at the sales this year but I have managed to pick a bits and bobs up so I can't complain too much. I am really loving Pewter, rose gold and golden hues atm.

Until next  time dolls.............

I'm on that all black everything

Happy New Year guys! Can someone tell me why I am buying sunglasses in winter please? Because certain folks think my wardrobes are a shop to come and pick up stuff from -_- you know who you are lol but also coz they are super cheap in the winter months and I am slightly obsessed . Anyhoo I was really "good" and somewhat restrained in the sales this time around. I found myself dividing my shopping into colourful spring stuff and black basics.  It is grey and dark and frankly I have been wearing bright colours to cheer me up and flip the bird to winter, but now I am feeling black.

All clothes shown above were below £10 and sunglasses were all below £2.50!!! Bargains *dougies*. What I really wanted with these pieces is something that I could slip on shuzzzz up or down and be on my way, simple yet effective. The Midi, maxi skirt, skater and jersey dress are simple up to date twists on the classic LBD which keeps it fresh. The creepers are one of those trends that doesn't really go out of fashion but evolves in style and is a great alternative to heels. They also so add a little edge to an outfit without being try hard.

I wasn't really bothered with shopping this Christmas and New Year and didn't go out for the boxing day sales. I stayed at home snuggled up warm in my housecoat with a glass of wine and occasionally surfed the net lazily.  I could not be doing with train delays, massive crowds and jabbing people in the gut to get items that weren't even reduced enough to warrant the energy so online sales was mainly the way forward for me. I think I did very well lol.

What did you buy in the sales, let a girl know about them bargains!

Until next time ...........
