Body Candy (Jewellery Haul)

I don't know about you guys but I like my jewellery to be a statement regardless of size, playfulness or subtlety. I went for what turned into a mini shop blitz with my friend and I got all of these pieces for less than £3.50 each YAAAAAAAY. I have voiced my disappointment at the sales this year but I have managed to pick a bits and bobs up so I can't complain too much. I am really loving Pewter, rose gold and golden hues atm.

Until next  time dolls.............

eBay Haul

I do love me a bit of eBay bargain buying. Some days I think nothing of staying up all night to get my bargain buy! So I decided to order a few things to bulk up my autumn/winter accessories wardrobe. The pieces above range between cool girlish pieces to alternative edgy. I did have a mustache necklace but it went walkies a while back -_- and who can deny something for 99p?

I absolutely adore the fact that each item cost less than £2 and are very well made. When I saw the multi coloured bracelet I had to have it as it reminds me of those plastic Scooby doos every one used to make back in the day. I have a few triangle necklaces and they really add a subtle glamour to any outfit. The claw cartilage earrings in gold and antiqued gold are just amazing and I have been getting compliments galore. Similar ones can be found at regalrose. It is a simply way to vamp up an outfit. Those unicorn earrings are just soooo cute, I bought then for a friends birthday present and they looked so nice I had to order a pair of my own. These definitely add a whimsical element to your outfit.

As every fashionista knows the zip is one of the biggest jewellery trends atm and I love that this anklet looks equally good as a bracelet. It can be bulked up with lots of other delicate bracelet or rocked on its own. Loves it! Birds have also been a big trend this year and the eagle mixed metal piece is awesome it has hinged wings which allow movements and gives it a 3D effect. The chain is fairly short but that's a minor issue easily sorted with a bit of DIY.

Anyhoo get your eBay on and if you have been on there what have you been buying?

The AW/12 fashion moodboard

AW moodboard 12

Yay Autumn is upon us! The kids are back at school and the first week of September has been unexpectedly sunny its time to shzuuush up your outfits with a those autumnal colours and whip out the old macs and capes.

Obviously times are hard and for most of us money is tight so picking key pieces and finding alternatives is important. Its all about layering and mix matching textures and prints. Statement pieces are always a must for a unique twist, be it a necklace, weird bag or killer coat let your piece do the talking! Keep it trendy in bold berrys and striking plums. Find your inner lady with lace but vamp it up with a whisper of leather. Find your own interpretation of British heritage chic. Match an over sized tee, funky legging, a Barbour or military inspired coat and those wicked Alexander McQueen riding boots for that concrete jungle edgy.  Jewellery wise keep it bold yet classic. Find simple pieces that have been updated or giver a twist. Always check boutiques, bazaars, markets and eBay for one off original items that others won't have.
Most importantly make it your own and have fun!

Until next time...........

New Look haul

Summer , summer, summertime, Yeah the summer time. Finally we have dispelled the urban myth about  British summers! Although fleeting we have been having fabulous weather of late and I have been busting out the door knocker earring to celebrate. I bought  most of these a few months and left the tags on to remind me of the prices and where I got them but for some reason I peeled off the sale prices * doh!

All items were below £3 pounds for sure and I absolutely LUUUUUV them. I have eclectic taste so there is a bit of everything in there. I didn't realise this but over the last 2 years I have been reaching for over sized retro or kitsch studs more than anything . However the big ass earring baby in me is back.

I often buy pieces of jewellery because they remind me of a place or something I have seen. I do this with clothes as well. slightly weird but works for me.

The pewter and red medallion on the left at the top remind me of the french ladies in waiting and courtesans. Also art they look like the medallions you see on mayors office chains.

The purple and gold dangly feather creations have a Grecian feel and close up there is a lovely print on them. The chains give them movement, as well as complimenting the feathers.

The 2 tiered earrings in the middle actually have a light pewetery brown finish and the little beads just caught my eyes. I am not sure why but they reminded me of a cake with leaf patterns that I saw at a festival.

The flowered earrings just reminded me of those last days of spring before summer hits. The teal green and pastel pinks are very on trend and the gold just adds the perfect back ground.

Last but not least my bronze circles of loveliness. Strangely the reminded me of the late 70's . I can just see big Afros, bell bottoms and sheer over sized shirts. Power to tha people yall lol.

As these were sale items I am unsure if they will be in store or online anymore but have a look.

Until next time lovelies I bid thee adieu.

Sour Cherry Jewellery

I am constantly on the look out for small artisan designers and companies who are bringing something new and exciting to the table. I think it is incredibly important to support those grass roots companies and their entrepreneurial spirits, especially young British designers.

Kayleigh Walker launched  Sour Cherry  in 2009 in Sheffield and has displayed a talent for creating original kitsch, quirky and innovative pieces. She has taken advantage of e-retail and has many shops online and  can also be be found at many craft fairs and markets.

I bought my first piece of Sour Cherry jewellery a few weeks ago and I am absolutely delighted.
I had about 10 things in my cart but reigning in my glee,I decided  to buy one piece to test drive quality etc.
Very grown up of me I know!! I am so pleased with my necklace, I bought the GEEK necklace with a silver chain. (You have a option of gold) and haven't stopped wearing it since it arrived.
Its cute, edgy, modern and a classic piece, loves it.
I heard about this company about 2 years ago and saw a few pieces at an event outside London but the gods conspired against me and I wasn't able to buy anything at the time :-(

The items are incredible affordable and there is definitely something for everyone.
I will be purchasing many more pieces from sour cherry and making this company a legitimate part of my five a day

Geek chic-ing it
