AND Finally last but by no means least...............................What ever the hell you want insert song right here. Finish 2012 off anyway you want to and keep it moving and grooving in 2013!
Its been an interesting and somewhat illuminating year. Heres hoping 2013 will bigger, badder and better! Peace out 2012 it has been shamazing and emosh lol
Alex Winston- Velvet Elvis. Me likey this song and it is taken from her album King con.Yes folks it is the Google chrome Cambridge satchel company song as seen in my Zesty fresh post a while back. Her voice is such a cool juxtaposition between candy sweet and the darkness of her lyrics. The song actually has a very serious topic called objectophilia which is cool too.
Coldplay- Charlie Brown. My friend HATES coldplay hehehehe but I like them. Not so much at the Olympics. They were very much dead sorry but its the truth.Apart from that random error they produce some good tunes. Loving the day glow.
Psy- Gangnam style. Gangnam fever has swept the nation! I occasionally hear a random Kpop song in an obscure bar but this has really made an impact internationally and I am on it lol.I have no idea what he is saying but all I know is I want to do everything with hopa gangnam style!!!
It's that time again, it's Monday and the hype hype isha must once again begin!
Emeli Sande - read all about it part 3. I love Emelis voice and album, honestly I prefer her version to the Professor Green song so yeah.
AlunaGeorge- Just a touch. I heard about this duo late last year but my friend Nikki (shout outs lol) turned me back on to them again. Having met through Myspace this duo can honestly do no wrong. Alunas voice is very unique and has a child like quality which clashes nicely with her lyrics. While George knows his way around a beat and synthesiser and throws wicked R'n'B/ electronic textures in. Their debut single Analyser/ We Are Chosen was released this year and you can properly tell these guys have been heavily influenced by the 90's music scene and they fuse that effortlessly into their own special brand of London cool sensuality. Awesome stuff
Public Enemy- Harder than you think. This was THE TUNE of the summer especially for London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. You couldn't turn on your TV without hearing this song. Public Enemy are Hip Hop royalty and this song just seemed to inspire unity and leave the scent of revolution in the air.Hope they made so dollars.
The Jackson 5- I want you Back. Ok seriously this song needs no freaking words just enjoy.
Bonus- How awesome was Micheal Jackson? What a freaking bad man, guy was genius just look at him he looks different and moves different from the rest. A league of his own and them socks woooh lol just Epic. Every few years I get obsessed all over again and have a massive homage of his greatest hits and this is that time.
It's the bank holiday woot, woot! Its time to kick back, relax and maybe hit the carnival. The last weekend in August is synonymous with Carnival in the UK and Europe, so to honour our epic 2 day event here is a lil classic sumthing sumthing to get the parrrttaaay started.
On with my list of awesome tuneage.......
Thinking about you- I am still channeling orange. Frank Oceans album is the stuff and I foresee me playing it for a long long long time! I absolutely love this tune. Poor guy who smiled on the train last week, I wasnt singing to you sorry lol
Wildest moments- This is the brand new British artist is called Jessie Ware. She has been around for some time and has featured on man like me songs as well as Rinse fm radio but her own album devotion is out now . Love the simplicity of the video.
Kidike -Its afro beats time. The sun can not be shining and you don't buss out a lil African tune. If we close our eyes we can pretend this random muggy weather is just like African sun lol (lies). The church scene is funny as well.
Party animal remix- Having been around for a bit and featured on loads of UK artists songs, Mikill Pane is beginning to make waves. His flow is so different and his voice is well very indigenous shall we say. He has a very British sound and style. I love all the little references in the video -intro and supermalt people!
Glory days- Blackpool born singer Karima Francis has been simmering on the periphery for a while now and has been well received at festivals etc after her first album the author. She has a very interesting overall modish look with about 3 different hairstyles in her hair. Her voice is so unique, she has a Tracy Chapmanesque vibe going on. I am absolutely LOVING this chilled out ,stripped down song.
Chilling on the train trying not to pass out from the noxious fumes emanating from the great unwashed ,usually means some hype hype music is needed to keep me going long enough for the second cup of coffee but today I am having a chilled one for sure. I even let the nosey man finish reading to the end of my newspaper with me lol.
Ben Howard has such a weird raspy warble in his voice. The wolves is a definite tune. My friend bought me his album after we saw him live somewhere last year (no clue where) and I am loving the folksiness of it. It’s nice to hear an actual instrument instead of the usual auto tune, makes me wanna pick up my violin and find a saxophone again .
Emeli Sande has some tunes on her debut album. Suitcase and where I sleep are getting a lot of play from me atm.
Ed Sheeran, well whats not to love about the lil ginger king? Has anyone else noticed guys coming up to them and spitting lines from his songs? Give me love in particular???? busted gtfoh lmao
Frank Oceans swim good . Obviously everyone is hyped about his letter regarding his sexuality. The amount of trolls out there is ridiculous its like get over yourself dick heads, he is an awesome writer and singer and just because he is gay/bi don't act as though you were bopping your heads to his songs last year and doing a 2 step kmt. It isnt contagious.
Melanie Fiona 4am . My friend calls this her battle song. If she needs to hype herself up into the hulk, she plays this and she is ready for attitude lol. Randomly this is also a good song to cook to. Chicken has never been seasoned so well lmao!
Anyways lovers thats all for now. What are you guys listening to of late??
This is a quick one folks. The weather in London is being blah blah and bipolar again so I am amusing myself with my fav tracks of the moment.
Loving you is harrrrddddd.........I love, love ,love Brandy and Monica together they make magic every time their voices soar and collide. I wish they had made more songs together over the years. This song has been on replay for the last few weeks. And for the Brandy stans -yep she looks incredibly beautiful in this, everything is on point full stop. Brandys voice sounds better than ever and hasn't Monica's register widened?
Drizzy done did it again! There are not many songs of Drakes I don't like. He has a way with words and Rhi Rhi don't sound too bad either. The imagery in this is the perfect background to the song.
Remember when Usher was like amazing? Song after song was a certified tune, his albums were quality and then he went down hill. I don't know if it was his divorce or getting married but it felt like he had lost his essence. I haven't bobbed my head to an Usher song in so long because the nonsense I was hearing was indeed of an oh my god variety. I think Usher of old is BACK. Climax is such a good song and his vocals are on point. Dude still needs a shave and to run a comb through them locks but apart from looking like a tramp it seems he is back to sweep them young pretenders to the throne back to where they belong.
I really can't get this song outta my head. I heard it last year and has been stuck with me ever since. I am absolutely loving the beat as well.
Azealia Banks formerly known as miss bank$ 4 the old school folks reminds me of those round the way girls that everybody on the estate knows. Not sure how you know her but you do. She is kinda like that chick you would pass on your way to school at stupid o'clock and See on your way home too. Straight hood but nice.
