Wishlist: Summer 2015

 Hi Lovers,
So the British summer is very unpredictable as we know lol and I find my wishlists really reflect that. They are an eclectic mix as I never know what I waking up to in a week.

Here's what I am after.....

This is what I am after in the next few months.

How  is your summer wish list compilation going?

Kimono calling

Last Spring, Summer and Autumn I lived in kimonos, it was the year of the kimono for me!
They just made everything sexy, glamorous, edgy, carefree and chill without even trying.
I wore them everywhere. EVERYWHERE lol.

The love affair with kimonos continues and I am always looking to add to my collection.
Kimonos just change the dimensions of an outfit and elevate the whole look.
They are dramatic, elegant and so diverse.
Which is why I have a collection, options are needed!

The whole spend less idea is working so far but when I saw these two and I couldn't resist.
Plus they were bargains!

Far Eastern Vibes

Vintage Asian kimono sourced by Miss Pigeons Wardrobe. £18

This shop is a recent discovery for me and I am so happy I found it.
It is so important to support small businesses and the individuality they bring. My kimono was in excellent condition and smelt good - key with vintage . Very quick delivery etc. They have some really nice one off pieces and the photography is beauts! I will be heading back when the bank allows.

This piece really caught my eye.
The flowers against that black and silvery white background is so eye cathing and gorgeous. This definitely is staple piece. It can be dressed up for dinner with heels and LBD or down with ripped jeans and a tank top.
It could even be worn as a wrap around dress with a belt, as it is a little over sized.
This type of kimono is a very bold piece. Let this and confidence be your main accessories!

Laid back fringe

Liquorish Geometric Kimono with Fringing - Black/white / One Size £11 (sold out at asos)

Oh Asos sizzle sizzle how you take my money!
Must resist  temptation.
I adore fringing and have been looking for one in monochrome. This links in nicely with the re-emergence of the 70's trend and gives me the option of sticking my toe in without going all out, hippy dippy fringe swinging in the sun vibe.
Instead this is a modern take which can be dressed up or down and will look amazing with a splash of colour and suede ankle boots .

I am always on the look out for kimonos and beach cover ups ( which i use as kimonos) and tend to get some great deals out of season.

Where is your favourite kimono from?

John Legend -All of me(Tiesto birthday treatment remix)

Example - One More Day (Stay with Me)

Calvin Harris - Thinking About You ft. Ayah Marar

WIRELESS 2014: Funday Friday

Guyssssssssss Wireless was live!

I Kicked off my 3 day weekend by heading to Wireless at Finsbury Park with my friend Nikki (late obviously lol) and had the BEST time. Overall it was so chilled and when I say Pharrell Williams put on a show!  Westwood hats off to him!!!!

wireless festival- friday 2014

It was an absolutely glorious day and it was literally African heat near the main stage! The sun was serious so after choosing the acts we wanted to see shade was definitely our best friend. We gave Tinie Tempah a miss as I have seen him before and Nik wasn't interested and opted for food.

We saw Jess Glynne, Kiesza, Foxes and Ella Eyre from a distance and heard a really good Angel Haze set as we ate under the trees. Tuborg town had us bubblin to some tunes before the idiots came and started a mini riot in the crowd -_-

Iggy Azealea was really good and created such a nice atmosphere on the Main stage. Nobody could understand a word she was saying but she was good none the less. I only like a few of her songs but she put on a good show and was consistent.

Pharell was my fav of the day, he was so energetic and his team were on point for the whole show. When he played N.E.R.D the crowd went bananas!

The headliner was Kanye West as everybody knows and as soon as Pharell finished the atmosphere turned crazy. It honestly took a turn for the worse! People were weeing in the crowd and spraying it about, fights were breaking out left right and centre and general common sense went out the window. We decided not to leave the main stage after Pharell and ended up a good way in the crowd.

So after enduring about 1.5hr of the interim DJ set Kanye came on in a one eyed studded gimp mask and the crowd went wild. Honestly after having to cuss so many people before hand who had pushed in front or were mosh pitting I just was not in the mood to listen to Kanye moan and go on a tangent. I have never zoned out at a concert but Kanye made it happen lol. In between rolling on the floor and talking a fair bit he did a good show. As always his visuals were on point if not a little eye watering.

We ended up leaving early just as Runaway began. Just before he had left a waterfall visual light show on the screen for about 10 mins and I had had enough of being elbowed so was considering going home. Then I heard the opening bars to runaway being tinkered out on a piano and literaly could not take a second more. I wasn't the only one a there seemed to be a mass exodus and migration towards the train station lol. By the end it was just the die hard Kanye fans and the heavens opened up.

I really enjoyed my day and might do a 2 dayer next time

Were you at wireless?

Collective fashion haulin: June 2014

Hey loves, Howya been?

I have been away for a bit ...LIFE as been happening as usual. Work is all consuming right now.
I haven't done a big haul in agggeeesss as I have been trying to money manage and not spend on random stuff as much. It has been working :-/  yeaaahh, kinda, sorta, maybe lol.

Here are some picks from my  last few shopping trips. They are all statement kind of pieces. Nice and comfortable items that I can wear during the day and go from work to play with a few adjustments.

I am still deciding on the ASOS trainers, their white ones are purty but will likely go back as they are a little small *uber sad face*. The black ones also look and feel more durable and sturdy.
I am also not sure about the red check shirt. As much as I love them, I am just not feeling the material. I actually bought this a few weeks back and was going to return it  but I only went and left it on the bus!!!!!
Anyway it is long gone and someone in my area is now swaggin it out in a checked shirt- Karma will sort them I am sure. My friend kindly repurchased this shirt for me but I think I will return it as I clearly wasn't meant to own it and I am not that fond of it.

what do you think?

Most items are still available in store and online so grab yourself a bargain.

Sweet like chocolate: Zara perfume SS/14

Zara women chocolate

I am slowly but surely growing my Zara perfume collection (check out previous purchases here) and my latest fav is their woman chocolate. I managed to nab the last one and boy am I glad I did. Great for those who want to cut back on chocolate for summer (never me lol), it smells like warm liquid luxurious chocolate!

I am a big fan of vanilla and amber which I can really smell notes of  within the fragrance. It has about 5 -7 hours of longevity on my clothes as I don't spray my skin. Which is totally cool with me.
At  £5.99 this is really good value and will definitely be used this spring/ summer A LOT.

eBay times!

Hey loves,
I saw this really cute and chic watch at the beginning of the year on The Black Pearl Blog  and immediately went and got myself one.
She also purchased a minty pastel colour which I would have also gone for but wanted to test the quality first.(a moment of  restraint o.O lol).
I have had the watch since mid January and it has been used A LOT and i am not a watch person!
I don't often wear watches but I do like them more now I am older and for testing purposes I rinsed this watch to the max.

Geneva royal blue silicone jelly watch

This watch is so nice, it is an electric royal blue which is very on trend and a cool alternative to black. The silicone straps lend it a nice sports luxe feel, while the rose gold face and numerals give it an expensive feel. I paid less than £3 and couldn't be happier. There has been no damage or wear and tear at all and this includes occasionally being worn with the  face being reversed inside my wrist- I am weird it's cool.
I have received soooooo many compliments with this bargainous piece and I feel like my fingers are twitching for the minty one. I can't say this will improve my occasional bouts of questionable lateness but they sure are pretty.
There is something for everyone colour wise. There are even diamante encrusted ones which are not up my street but might work for you. The whole range can be found here. Check them out.

Zara sandals: 2014 fashion staple

zara sandals 2014

I LOVE the simplicity of these sandals.
I saw them last Tuesday on my way to work and I took them home that evening after a lil shopping trip in central London with my friend Niki. (the joys of working in the city, you spot a beauteous bargain and it's a grab your coat love you've pulled kinda situation lol)
They are incredibly wearable and affordable at £29.99. The gold cuff is very sexy and subtle and will be a great addition to any outfit.
It is a great way to carry on the basic strap sandal trend without being stagnant. I also love that it is a block heel as it gives it that old school 90's flavour while remaining timeless and classic.

Pretty pretty
These gorgeous metal ankle strap sandals can be found on the Zara website here.

Flower chile.....wedding guest swag

It was my sisters wedding last Saturday and I went totally flower power. I was complemented on my floral theme and full bloomed flower look. The ruby woo lippie appealed to the ladies and my headband had the lil girls a flutter and shyly sidling up to me to ask to try it on lol. I kept my whole look incredibly simple and let my accessories and embellishments do the talking.

Nude Make up and bold lips- apologies for the end of day grease ball face!

I went for a fresh faced dewy look using:
Eyes- MUA Undress me too palette
Face-  MUA primer (comes up matt on me)
Sleek be beautiful blemish balm, Sleek face contour kits,
Mac studio finish concealer NW45/ NW50, Gel eyeliner
Lips- Mac Ruby Woo
Cheeks-  Mac sheertone Pinch o'peach
Outfit for the day

Embellished skater dress-  ASOS
Neon Tuxedo Blazer (It was too hot to wear)- Dorothy Perkins
Coral studded flats - Gift
White Satchel , can be used a s clutch- Topshop (similar in primark)
Floral rose headband Primark with own added embellishment

I kept it summery with a light cream dress and used the accent colours in the dress. The white bag was a key trend this summer and tied in the outfit well..

Total SELFIE

I would absolutely recommend buying this dress. It is comfortable and very breathable. I didn't feel over heated and it doesn't pick up dirt easily which is nice. The dress is super cute and very summery, it was definitely a talking point. The skater style is flattering to most body types so a definite must have. If you are taller than 5'6ft like myself it may be a little short at the back, that can be rectified by adding some lace or netting depending on your sewing skills. Unfortunately there was so much to do I haven't had time to look for a proper picture to upload so you are stuck with my greasy selfie from the end of the night lol.

I had a great time once the running around was over and my outfit withstood many many hours of wear.

Metallic melodrama.....

I am loving loving loooooooooving flatforms and definitely embracing the metallic trend a lot more through my accessories. I absolutely adore these shiny metallic flatforms. They remind me of primary school sandals for some reason. I was  a bit hesitant as some high shine items can look tacky but after trying them on they are perfect. They have enough shine to catch the light and accentuate an outfit without looking trashy. The two below are my favs.

Kurt Geiger - Kast £75

No Doubt Metallic flatform sandals- £19.99

SS13 Trend: Monochrome

Monochrome is a massive spring/ summer trend this year and above are a few affordable pieces that are easy to incorporate into your wardrobe. Monochromatic colours totally go against the notion of having super brights and feminine tones for spring/ summer. However if monsieur Roland Mouret says "what else is there but black and white? Is there anything else this season?" we pay attention.

I absolutely adore the A. Sauvage Dr Martens in white, grey and black silk Kente shoes.
I love to have my oxfords have that element of pure androgynous edge, so what is not to love here?
Kente is traditionally the clothe of Ghanaian royalty (heeeey!)and is beautifully crafted in various colours.
I have heard so many people raving about them for months so when I saw them again on Susie Bubbles blog, I had to include them.

I have pretty much fallen in love with half the stuff here and paired with gorgeous bold statement lips they will look fab. Remember it doesn't have to be prison stripes alone to achieve the look you could opt for the horse print jumper instead.

Are you feeling the Monochrome trend?

Nose candy (candle love)

Candles are a passion of mine  in stressful times. They soothe me, create ambiance and atmosphere effortlessly . Coley and Gill votive candles are a fav right now. Their spring / summer scented candles are amazingly cheap and smell awesome. Their  packaging is so cute and is a great alternative to fairy lights. I get mine from poundland and they last for a good while. Stay away from their Lime Zest coz that stuff is rank! Like some super strong disinfectant, seriously my eyes were burning ewww.

Another favourite of mine is the Walsh and Baker chocolate fudge cake candle as seen in the middle above. It does exactly what it promises in the title. This candle releases a gorgeous and delightfully chocolaty emanation.
Check them out guys, they are super relaxing and cheap as chips!

P.S don't burn your house down .....yada yada , be safe, be careful, keep away from kids and enjoy etc

Are you that primark? (Haul)

Primark can be sooooooo hit and miss its crazy. But when they get it right they get it right and go hard. What I have seen of their SS12/ AW12 collections have been really nice. I have been finding some really nice gems in Primark of late. Nice enough for me to want to line up in sweaty conditions for a good 15 minutes. The women's department is a bit of a shambles but the men's t- shirts and vests have stepped up!! Got me a few bargains for those rare sunny days. I went in for one thing, a pair of beautiful pastel blue sandals and unfortunately they didn't have them in my size anymore and extra kicks in the teeth they had been reduced to £2!!!  *roars and dies*.

Anyways I was in the shop so I decided to have a look through and I found a few good bits. I had too much stuff so I have only shown a few pieces as I got very lazy very quickly. I never try to find a whole outfit in Primark; I stick to individual pieces and accessories then mix and match with other stores and labels. A lot of their stuff for me is throw away fashion so I don't mind if I chuck it away after a few months or ruin it at festivals etc. Not all of their stuff is of bad quality, I find most of their knit wear and jersey products last for ages.

I am really into layering, prints and giving outfits a more textured feel. Don't be afraid to print clash and add fine knits to keep an outfit warm yet stylish without bulking up. Mix and match things such as the loose knit jumper and the high low skirt with a button up shirt for a day time look. Or the neon sandals, Tokyo t-shirt and maxi for a relaxed day in the park. Also try experimenting. If you really like an item but it is slightly off when you try it on customise! I will probably cut the second strap of my sandals and keep them to add to a clutch bag for a neon sports luxe feel.

Are you having any primarni luck at the minute? Let me know where you guys are finding your fav sale items!!

Club Tropicana

Club Tropicana drinks are freeeeeeeee lol. Once again we have been having some off key weather with epic sunshine and mad torrential rain rolled into one. On the one day last week that sunshine prevailed, I found myself in the park with my peeps chilling with some frozen sangria, strongbow ice cubes and a massive boom box bussin some rave tunes ( wooh wooh), slow jams and Ed Sheeran. Shout out to the Italian guy next to us who was blaring vintage clubland tuneage.

Looking around it seems like 80% of the women in the park were rocking the floral tropical trend and with aplomb I might add. There was the odd travesty but hey this is London!

These are some of my fav choices for this trend that aren't over the top and can be used as great statement pieces. What are your favourite tropical pieces and how are you rocking them?

zesty fresh

I am absolutely loving the summer brights at the minute. I am attempting the fake it til you make it motto in regards to the English weather! Colour just uplifts me. I tend to go for darker colours when the weather is drab so adding a lil sumthin sumthin keeps me sane. Adding an acid bright neon doesn't have to be super out there or garish it can be an accent of colour so I would suggest getting a key piece and starting from there. If you aren't confident with the colour you are wearing it will show so choose a piece you will rock with confidence and build up from there.

P.s those H & M sandals are ridiculous so sexy it hurts!

Orange obsession

I have become quite taken with anything that is a shade of the l'orange grande. Lipsticks, blushes, fabrics, jumpers, shirts, dresses anything and everything. I have raided my dresser and wardrobe for my orange inspiration pieces to cheer myself up. What with the great British weather swinging between sunshine, gale force winds and savage rains it is time to make my own sunshine state! All shades of orange welcome (except tango tan-tastics no but really my eyes bleed) lol.

Midi Magic

I am absolutely loving the midi trend this summer (harhar). I have a fair few pieces in my repertoire which are favourites at anytime of year. A midi adds a sense of cool sexy pizazz to any outfit and any occasion. I have compiled a few of my fav high street midi dresses and skirts for your viewing pleasure. Whether rocked with flats, sandals, sky scraper heels or boots get out there and work it!

New Look haul

Summer , summer, summertime, Yeah the summer time. Finally we have dispelled the urban myth about  British summers! Although fleeting we have been having fabulous weather of late and I have been busting out the door knocker earring to celebrate. I bought  most of these a few months and left the tags on to remind me of the prices and where I got them but for some reason I peeled off the sale prices * doh!

All items were below £3 pounds for sure and I absolutely LUUUUUV them. I have eclectic taste so there is a bit of everything in there. I didn't realise this but over the last 2 years I have been reaching for over sized retro or kitsch studs more than anything . However the big ass earring baby in me is back.

I often buy pieces of jewellery because they remind me of a place or something I have seen. I do this with clothes as well. slightly weird but works for me.

The pewter and red medallion on the left at the top remind me of the french ladies in waiting and courtesans. Also art they look like the medallions you see on mayors office chains.

The purple and gold dangly feather creations have a Grecian feel and close up there is a lovely print on them. The chains give them movement, as well as complimenting the feathers.

The 2 tiered earrings in the middle actually have a light pewetery brown finish and the little beads just caught my eyes. I am not sure why but they reminded me of a cake with leaf patterns that I saw at a festival.

The flowered earrings just reminded me of those last days of spring before summer hits. The teal green and pastel pinks are very on trend and the gold just adds the perfect back ground.

Last but not least my bronze circles of loveliness. Strangely the reminded me of the late 70's . I can just see big Afros, bell bottoms and sheer over sized shirts. Power to tha people yall lol.

As these were sale items I am unsure if they will be in store or online anymore but have a look.

Until next time lovelies I bid thee adieu.

Pay day spring /summer fashion mood board

What better way to treat yourself  for being fierce, fabu and bossy? This is pretty much what I am feeling this month. I have already bought a few as my staples for the next couple of months. I am a little too happy that all of these are affordable and are very wearable bits and bobs.
I really love accessories and statement peices that can transform an outfit and are transferable from day tonight etc. They are also good if you are on a budget as nothing on here is above £50 and some are on sale!
I have a thing where I mix and match my clothes all year round so I will rock all my stuff together. It might be laziness but that's how I do and it also means I have a bigger style collection to work with.
The colours, textures and patterns really speak to me plus it screams a big fuck you to the rubbish weather we are having in London (apart from today randomly).

Top tip: set yourself a budget for your season must haves, after statement buys purchase accessories. Unless your a student then spend, spend, spend and then eat miso soup for a month lol
