Makeup Revolution haul: dupes, highlighters and thinking outside the box

Ok so I have finally, Fi-nal-ly done a Makeup Revolution haul! 

Not a lipstick here and an eyeshadow there.

A proper haul! 

Makeup revolution has been on my radar for the longest time and I just hadn't got around to ordering a proper haul.

So after honing my long list of goodies I was ready to order. 

That epic Christmas discount didn't disappoint either.

So the packaging is super basic but black is classic and luckily it seems sturdy enough, so no issues there from me. 

My heart was set on the Radiance highlighter palette for the longest time. 

So that was first to go into my basket. 

I am a fan and it's super affordable.
I am all about the glow, that delicious thing that makes me glow to the gawds!
The glow is necessary when artfully done!
Having said that I am not trying to have Tim Peake spot me either lol .
So this is a good one as this
palette is more of a subtle highlight trio, for a more finely milled finished natural glow.
However it is very buildable if you want a stronger finish.

Peach Lights was also a no brainer for me and that was swiftly added to the basket.

It is slightly cooler in tone but not ashy because of that iridescent peach tone which my skin really picks out.

As soon as I clocked the Baked bronzers, I knew they would make amazing highlighters for me as well other deeper skintones! 

I picked up Rock on world and it is beautiful. Just beautiful. 

Great pigment and easy to blend.
The quality is so buttery soft and it is pretty much a dupe for Global glow MSF by MAC. With a much cheaper price tag.
Rock on world appears more bronze in pan but they are pretty much spot on.
I am SO impressed with this bronzer and obviously need more!
Lightly layering rock the world with peach lights is also stunning giving lit from within effortlessly ethereal look.

 Baked Blushers Hard Day,  Make Love Instead and All I think about is you, were must haves for me.

 I wasn't sure about these once they arrived and actually planned to return them as I thought they might be too ashy for me on seeing them.
I am so glad I didn't! If they hadn't of worked out I could always give them to a friend. But luckily for me they did.

As with my Kiko haul, I am switching up the product purpose and will actually be using the baked blushes as highlighters primarily.
I have to say they work amazingly well. 

After swatching them I was impressed but after leaving them to become accustomed to my body temp and body oils etc for a few minutes they looked even better.

Unexpectedly I picked up the Agonise Eye Dust.
I have strayed away from eyeshadows for a long while.
So haven't really purchased anything new but this gorgeous colour caught my eye.

 I think it is deceptively simple but can be transformed into some awesome looks and would absolutely kill!
There was a bit of fall out which can get glitter everywhere but if handled correctly it is so beautiful.

And finally Lips!
What is a makeup haul of mine without a few lip products?

I have heard about the softness of the amazing Lipliners and can attest to that.
I grabbed  Rebel and Cherry Red.
Although they are a little cool toned than I would usually go for.
They aren't ashy and are great for changing the hues of warmer toned lipsticks especially.

I LOVE deep lipsticks.
 I wear them all year round.
So obviously I grabbed this beautiful brown berry toned #Liphug in Still missing my baby.
The finish is creamy on the lips but has low shine and excellent coverage. Liking it a lot.

The Atomic Lipstick Make Me Tonight is very deep and vampy which I adore but it does need to be built up for solid intensity and lasting power.
However for the price it is bloody excellent. I does have a gel like slip texture to it which is different too.

I also picked two Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquers in Vamp and Rebel.

A comfortable inbetween of matte but not moisture depriving.
So far Vamp is my fav (big surprise).
It comes out as a deep purple with grey smokey undertones and the colour pay off is good but it will not last whilst eating etc.
So definitely carry for reapplication.
You can remove with a wet wipe but to minimise tugging oil is best.

So that's it guys.
 I am VERY happy with everything I got.
 I love that everything I got is of a quality much higher than the prices paid for it.
They are already becoming firm staples and go to products.
They are super affordable and with discounts often being added even more so.
So I will def be going back for a few more key products.

Shaking up AW15: Kiko haul

Kiko is one of those beauty brands that is soooo affordable and is amazing quality yet I find I don't shop there enough. 

I may not shop there as often as I would like but I do have a great collection of solid great performance products.

I absolutely love the Regents Street branch and could honestly
just stay in there for hours gazing at the products.
Although it doesn't have the biggest space it's very cleanly layed out
and just on the right side of overwhelming -if there is such a thing!

Whilst meeting up with friends for dinner,
I dropped in and picked up a few items and I am really loving them.
As I don't often wear bright colours on my eyes,
I actually bought these eyeshadow shades to use them mainly as blusher.
Although less bright in real life,
they are very pigmented. So a very light hand is needed and a very small amount of product does the job.
They might be colours usually associated with spring or summer
but if you have been reading the blog for a while I am sure you know I wear whatever takes my fancy whenever
it takes said fancy!

No surprise that there are 3 lipsticks!

I absolutely love a bold lip,
it might be my signature eyebrows and bold lips.

I also grabbed a gorgeous metallic fresh green to contrast with my khaki collection and am very happy to have this stunner in my collection.

MUA mini haul

  Hi lovers, 

Here we have another case of I went in to browse and here we are lol.

In actual fact 90 percent of the basket was put back lol. I wanted to give these a really good try before sharing.

All I needed was mascara but my eye was caught by £1 dark berry matte lipstick , even though

it's summery, I love a dark lip. I also picked up one if their new range of lip laqueurs for £3.

MUA wild berry matte lipstick and  MUA LUXE  lip lacquer in funk

My friend absolutely loathes the MUA matte lipsticks. Her words being "it makes my lips ugly and goes on like sand paper" lol but other than it being a little sheer and not as deep/ pigmented as I would like it. It is a cool lipstick/ stain and smells nice.

 

I actually picked up the wrong lip lacquer.Waaaaaah. I really wanted kooky but I took way to long and now can't return it so I am going to keep it.

L-R- MUA lash Boom, MUA mega volume mascara

My last item is mascara. Mascara is a daily essential. I often go bare faced but brows and mascara are a must!  I rather like the MUA Mega Volume mascara (pink) and thought that I would try out the MUA Lash Boom, not stopping to check if it was waterproof or not -_-. It isn't but I still kept it and it isn't that great for me. The wand does nothing for me and for some reason the formula occasionally irritates my eyes.

In terms of MUA mascara it is definitely back to the mega volume!

Mua & FashionistA makeup haul!

Hey dolls,

It has been a little while since I did a makeup haul, mainly because I am trying to use what I have and I am trying to spend less mwahahhhaaa....... anyway I resisted for a while but then the E.L.F and Mua/ FashionistA sale double wammied me. So shopping I went!

I was really good and decided to go for FashionistA and Mua as they are one of my fav companies and  I have so much e.l.f anyway. The sales prices are really excellent and I came away with 22 items costing £30- bargain!

I didn't really own any FashionistA before this haul. I have used one of their lippies and found it really good although I ended up giving it away.

 These lippies will be a great addition to my autumnal berry collection. At £1.50 for the lipsticks and £1.25 for the trios they were such a bargain and I cant wait to use them. They are incredibly nourishing and creamy. They have staying power and are not the most intense but are lovely none the less.

  I am such a fan of blushers. They just lift and add dimension to the face. I don't wear a full face off makeup every day so it is always good to have a wide variety of blushes to play with. I adore the range of colours which I can wear all year round and will take me from day to night with good colour pay off. I had to limit myself to five even though they were only £1.65 each and the pretty palette was only £2!!!!

I decided to go with a natural look with this palette. I am not the biggest fan of sparkle and these have a slight shimmer but are very subtle. I stuck to the palette number this time and I am very pleased with the outcome. Although I adore colour on my lids, it has always been muted or richer tones. I am now finding myself reaching for nude colours and wanted a palette that reflected that. The eyeshadows were £1.65 and this sleek palette was also £2.

The bronzer has been tested a few times already by friends with great reviews.I actually dust this over my collar bone and shins in summer  for an extra glow.

  

I Love, Love, LOVE these lip balms. They smell lovely and moisturise my lips really well.

They are rarely in stock in my local Superdrugs, so I always stock up when I see them. £1 each was a lovely bonus.

 I tend to always go for mattifying primers as I have found some normal primers make my face feel greasy. I have seen some rave reviews on this product and thought I would give it a go. At £3.50 I don't have anything to lose. I am an absolute mascara junkie and other than Maybelline I am not 100% loyal to any brand. I am forever trying new ones and adding to my collection.This was a great buy at £1.50 down from £8!

The coloured gel eyeliner is a fairly new concept for me. I find black eyeliner to be so chic and timeless why change?  I have been given coloured eyeliners over the years but always shied away as the outcome on other people wasn't to my liking shall we say. I really liked the colour of this one and thought it would make a great accent colour when I don't want to wear eyeshadow.

Lastly my boring brown matt eyeshadow lol. I don't actually use this as eyeshadow. I use it for contouring. As with many dark skinned girls, I found that some contouring powder doesn't give great definition but this does! I tried it after I misplaced my Sleek contour kit and was rather impressed. I love that it is £1 but is very pigmented and versatile.

E.L.F lips edition (haul)

Hey dolls,
So winter is here and it is here with a vengeance!
Wind , rain and for some hardcore floods.
Now I have a normal if not large amount of lipgloss and lip care but whilst on a train I have been assulted with a a tidal wave of ashy and dry lips!
Seeing the dead skin and massive crackshas  spurred me into action and et voila I went on a little E.LF spree as soon as my fingers touched a keyboard.

The above lipglosses and lipsticks are the fruit of my labour and I absolutely LOVE them.
I am not quite sure why I got 2 lip plumping glosses as I really don't need it but meh, the more the merrier. They nourish my lips well and smell great.
They are provide a beautiful  wash of colour and are packed with goodies to keep my lips supple, crack free and winter ready. Most importantly they are not too sticky. E.L.F have some amazing deals on atm so go indulge yourself and have chap free lips as it is most definitely the trend for AW12!

Nifty NYX (Make up haul)

A while back I did a NYX cream blush post which I raved about and these 6 round lip glosses and 3 lipsticks are my second haul order from the wonderful eBay shop Joys Cosmetics. I received a free gift with my cream blush order which was the apricot gloss and that alone prompted me place my order immediately. I tried to choose colours for all occasions that could be used all year round. I really wanted to do a longer term trial run to ensure the quality of these products really was as great as I thought. They are, these lip glosses are AWESOME! I have been using them non stop since they arrived! 

 Not only do they have staying power but they last a long time. There is no stickiness or weird smells. The glosses that have sparkle are not overpowering and do not chafe my lips. They passed all tests with flying colours! I can't rave about NYX products enough really, they really are excellent. I like wearing my glosses mostly by themselves and these are very pigmented. The lipsticks are super creamy, nourishing and extremely pigmented. My colour choices reflect late summer and autumn trends and they can also be layered with some of the lip glosses to vary the shades and intensity. Seriously dolls I can't say enough good things about these products just gorgeous stuff! I am defiantly eyeing up a few matt finish lipsticks and super gloss lip glosses! Watch out for another haul ;-)

Ps. Many bloggers and vloggers have been hyping queen of Africa as shown above and I can truly hand on heart say believe the hype, it's lovely. Until next time.
