Mixtape Mondays #1

Chilling on the train trying not to pass out from the noxious fumes emanating from the great unwashed ,usually means some hype hype music is needed to keep me going long enough for the second cup of coffee but today I am having a chilled one for sure. I even let the nosey man finish reading to the end of my newspaper with me lol.

Ben Howard has such a weird raspy warble in his voice. The wolves is a definite tune. My friend bought me his album after we saw him live somewhere last year (no clue where) and I am loving the folksiness of it. It’s nice to hear an actual instrument instead of the usual auto tune, makes me wanna pick up my violin and find a saxophone again .

Emeli Sande has some tunes on her debut album. Suitcase and where I sleep are getting a lot of play from me atm.

Ed Sheeran, well whats not to love about the lil ginger king? Has anyone else noticed guys coming up to them and spitting lines from his songs? Give me love in particular???? busted gtfoh lmao

Frank Oceans swim good . Obviously everyone is hyped about his letter regarding his sexuality. The amount of trolls out there is ridiculous its like get over yourself dick heads, he is an awesome writer and singer and just because he is gay/bi don't act as though you were bopping your heads to his songs last year and doing a 2 step kmt. It isnt contagious.

Melanie Fiona 4am . My friend calls this her battle song. If she needs to hype herself up into the hulk, she plays this and she is ready for attitude lol. Randomly this is also a good song to cook to. Chicken has never been seasoned so well lmao!

Anyways lovers thats all for now. What are you guys listening to of late??

Sneaker Freak

I love trainers (I am English we don't really say sneakers) a remnant of my tom boy days I suppose. I am more discerning in my crepe choices theses days. There is nothing like a fresh and crisp trainer on a guy or a girl it’s just a good thing. Trainers are comfortable, cool and when donned correctly stylish. I am not a girly girl and I really wasn't feeling the heeled converses when they came out yonks back but I have been swooning over the above wedge heel trainers for the longest time. They can be rocked with anything from a cute lil dress, leggings or jeans. They are incredibly versatile and add a bit of sassy sport luxes to any outfit as well as elongating the legs wonderfully. For those not keen on the wedges a pop of colour always makes an outfit interesting all year round. Show a little personality through your trainer wear.

What are your thoughts?

Who's been watching?

I have been watching some wicked shows as of late, Eastenders and Hollyoaks just wasn't cutting it anymore lmao (English joke). What with Revenge, 2 broke girls and not trusting the bitches in apartment 23 my water shed hours have been pretty busy. These are what I have been watching ---->

Via HBO

Game of thrones has been that show once again. I absolutely LOVE the books (Mr Martin hurry up with the next one pleaaaaase) and season 2 didn't disappoint! I am that weird person who points out all the continuity errors to friends and family so you know I was like errr wha? When they switched events between books (no spoiler alerts from me). Weirdly I also noticed a few of the spiked heads were George Bush lol. I await season 3 with baited breath. Team Arya Stark woot woot!!!

I really like this series. I got a bit obsessed trying to catch up. It’s good to see Buffy the vampire killer in a good role with a bit of meat to it. I am really hoping that they continue to make the show and I have heard rumours that there will be a series 2. Fingers crossed. The Siobhan and Bridget twin story line is dragging a bit but everyone is so fucked up on this show I am sure they have enough material for a few more seasons.

Via HBO

I rather like this it is very true to many people’s lives and struggles and has been hailed as the second and better coming of the sex and the city pre years. I am sure every person knows a person or has gone through one of the girls situations. It is true reality based on reality. The show focuses around the lives of four friends in their early 20's trying to find themselves, survive and keep each other afloat. Starving writer Hannah who is a slight slore with low self esteem but a great passion for writing, up tight Marnie who hates her perfect but dry as toast boyfriend who is so together she is falling apart, Free spirited Jessa who just flits from one drama to another and innocent student Shoshanna who is a bit cray cray. It is drawing me in with it funny real to life stuff. A definite watch!

I am liking this show. It portrays politics as you imagine it is behind the shiny veneer. Kerry Washington plays Olivia Pope well and isn't one of those stereotypical characters. There is grit to each person. I have really picked up the pace and in the world that has been created every random event is believable and totally possible.  Oh also WHO IS QUINN? I am thinking witness protection or some kind of killer, I need answers! Does anybody else want to work for a secret organisation and be a gladiator in a suit? I do

OK that's me so far guys. What shows are you guys loving at the moment? Let me know, clue a girl in.

Club Tropicana

Club Tropicana drinks are freeeeeeeee lol. Once again we have been having some off key weather with epic sunshine and mad torrential rain rolled into one. On the one day last week that sunshine prevailed, I found myself in the park with my peeps chilling with some frozen sangria, strongbow ice cubes and a massive boom box bussin some rave tunes ( wooh wooh), slow jams and Ed Sheeran. Shout out to the Italian guy next to us who was blaring vintage clubland tuneage.

Looking around it seems like 80% of the women in the park were rocking the floral tropical trend and with aplomb I might add. There was the odd travesty but hey this is London!

These are some of my fav choices for this trend that aren't over the top and can be used as great statement pieces. What are your favourite tropical pieces and how are you rocking them?
