Sweet like chocolate: Zara perfume SS/14

Zara women chocolate

I am slowly but surely growing my Zara perfume collection (check out previous purchases here) and my latest fav is their woman chocolate. I managed to nab the last one and boy am I glad I did. Great for those who want to cut back on chocolate for summer (never me lol), it smells like warm liquid luxurious chocolate!

I am a big fan of vanilla and amber which I can really smell notes of  within the fragrance. It has about 5 -7 hours of longevity on my clothes as I don't spray my skin. Which is totally cool with me.
At  £5.99 this is really good value and will definitely be used this spring/ summer A LOT.

Primark haulin: Spring 2014

 Hi all,
Thought I would show some of my primarni bargains.
I went in for that beautiful red daisy tea dress that has been in every online magazine for the last few months and came out with 3 bags. Took the dress back as the arm pits were not working for me and came out with another 2 bags.

After separating the wheat from the chaff and returning half of it as you do lol, I have my final selection....wheeew

I bagged this really nice slouchy slubby light metallic mesh thread jumper for £3! Its such a basic piece but can be as dressy, smart and casual as I want to make it. I also have a nice skirt that is similar to this so I can do a modern twin set. Seen here

I am pretty much into printed optical illusion graphic digital print shirts this year. Tuck them into a pencil skirt or layer for a casual lazy day look. Its all good with me. Dunno what it is but usually I find the best ones in the mens section but this is a womans piece surprisingly. it said £6 which is fair enough but was £2.50 at the till *dougies*

This petrol blue midi skirt is screaming spring to me.  Once again it is a office to night out piece depending on styling and at £12 I love it. Primark are calling it navy but ...um ..yeh..nah

Purple is my favourite colour and I don't wear it enough. The colour is absolutely gorgeous. I originally saw it in blue and red and liked it but after seeing my friend rocking this berry colour I had to reconsider. It is currently in store and £6. I love collared blouses because they are so easy and chic and are a definite staple in my wardrobe.

We arrive at basic basics. I always stock up on vests as I wear them in winter clothes and as a base piece in the warmer months. They are £2 and really long wearing. They used to be cheaper but I will let it go. I also picked this cotton navy light snood. I have been chucking it over everything especially as my office has a deep love affair with the air con.

Finally I spotted these cleated heel suede effect Chelsea boots. They were on sale for £15 in my size and my eyes lit up. Our weather is so cray one second its sunny and next rain and sleet
(slight exaggeration) so these are a great transitional shoe. I looked long and hard for an unscuffed pair but it looks like mark shows up fairly easily so be aware if you get a pair :-/ . I have recieved so many complements it may be my fav primarni bargain this year so far.

Have you responded to the siren call of Primarni of late??

Beetroot salad: purple mania

Hi guys,

Ok it seems to be salad mania up in here!
This is what I am dubbing my purple haze salad. It is super simple and very filling.
I adore the colours, even though it is spring there is something very autumnal and harvest supper about it. No?

I have a weird thing about beetroot. Even weirder than my twice a year banana thing. Beetroot takes me back to primary school and having manky over cooked mushy beetroots, possibly with a strand of hair or 2.....ummm sexy.
Over the last few years I have been eating it more mainly shredded (seems to be the only way i will eat it)as it is super nutritious and high in anti oxidants.
My mum has been raving about beetroot for years but I never could bring myself to eat them, which is strange as purple is my favourite colour.

Ingredients:
Red beets
Chioggia beets (ringed beetroot)
Carrots
 Sweet corn
Cherry tomatoes

Dressing:
1/2 x lemon
1/2x  lime
1 x tablespoon honey
1x dried chives
chili flakes -to taste
pinch of pepper and salt

Enjoy your bank holiday!

eBay times!

Hey loves,
I saw this really cute and chic watch at the beginning of the year on The Black Pearl Blog  and immediately went and got myself one.
She also purchased a minty pastel colour which I would have also gone for but wanted to test the quality first.(a moment of  restraint o.O lol).
I have had the watch since mid January and it has been used A LOT and i am not a watch person!
I don't often wear watches but I do like them more now I am older and for testing purposes I rinsed this watch to the max.

Geneva royal blue silicone jelly watch

This watch is so nice, it is an electric royal blue which is very on trend and a cool alternative to black. The silicone straps lend it a nice sports luxe feel, while the rose gold face and numerals give it an expensive feel. I paid less than £3 and couldn't be happier. There has been no damage or wear and tear at all and this includes occasionally being worn with the  face being reversed inside my wrist- I am weird it's cool.
I have received soooooo many compliments with this bargainous piece and I feel like my fingers are twitching for the minty one. I can't say this will improve my occasional bouts of questionable lateness but they sure are pretty.
There is something for everyone colour wise. There are even diamante encrusted ones which are not up my street but might work for you. The whole range can be found here. Check them out.

Zara sandals: 2014 fashion staple

zara sandals 2014

I LOVE the simplicity of these sandals.
I saw them last Tuesday on my way to work and I took them home that evening after a lil shopping trip in central London with my friend Niki. (the joys of working in the city, you spot a beauteous bargain and it's a grab your coat love you've pulled kinda situation lol)
They are incredibly wearable and affordable at £29.99. The gold cuff is very sexy and subtle and will be a great addition to any outfit.
It is a great way to carry on the basic strap sandal trend without being stagnant. I also love that it is a block heel as it gives it that old school 90's flavour while remaining timeless and classic.

Pretty pretty
These gorgeous metal ankle strap sandals can be found on the Zara website here.

Metallic melodrama.....

I am loving loving loooooooooving flatforms and definitely embracing the metallic trend a lot more through my accessories. I absolutely adore these shiny metallic flatforms. They remind me of primary school sandals for some reason. I was  a bit hesitant as some high shine items can look tacky but after trying them on they are perfect. They have enough shine to catch the light and accentuate an outfit without looking trashy. The two below are my favs.

Spring highstreet must haves 2013

This is actually a little late but seeing as Spring never officially sprung, these are more my basic building blocks for outfits this spring/ summer. We have had two sunny warmish days so fingers crossed eh. I have been trying to shop less on the whole and kind of succeeding but a girl has needs and she can dream lol.

Whats on your list?

SS13 Trend: Monochrome

Monochrome is a massive spring/ summer trend this year and above are a few affordable pieces that are easy to incorporate into your wardrobe. Monochromatic colours totally go against the notion of having super brights and feminine tones for spring/ summer. However if monsieur Roland Mouret says "what else is there but black and white? Is there anything else this season?" we pay attention.

I absolutely adore the A. Sauvage Dr Martens in white, grey and black silk Kente shoes.
I love to have my oxfords have that element of pure androgynous edge, so what is not to love here?
Kente is traditionally the clothe of Ghanaian royalty (heeeey!)and is beautifully crafted in various colours.
I have heard so many people raving about them for months so when I saw them again on Susie Bubbles blog, I had to include them.

I have pretty much fallen in love with half the stuff here and paired with gorgeous bold statement lips they will look fab. Remember it doesn't have to be prison stripes alone to achieve the look you could opt for the horse print jumper instead.

Are you feeling the Monochrome trend?

New Look haul

Summer , summer, summertime, Yeah the summer time. Finally we have dispelled the urban myth about  British summers! Although fleeting we have been having fabulous weather of late and I have been busting out the door knocker earring to celebrate. I bought  most of these a few months and left the tags on to remind me of the prices and where I got them but for some reason I peeled off the sale prices * doh!

All items were below £3 pounds for sure and I absolutely LUUUUUV them. I have eclectic taste so there is a bit of everything in there. I didn't realise this but over the last 2 years I have been reaching for over sized retro or kitsch studs more than anything . However the big ass earring baby in me is back.

I often buy pieces of jewellery because they remind me of a place or something I have seen. I do this with clothes as well. slightly weird but works for me.

The pewter and red medallion on the left at the top remind me of the french ladies in waiting and courtesans. Also art they look like the medallions you see on mayors office chains.

The purple and gold dangly feather creations have a Grecian feel and close up there is a lovely print on them. The chains give them movement, as well as complimenting the feathers.

The 2 tiered earrings in the middle actually have a light pewetery brown finish and the little beads just caught my eyes. I am not sure why but they reminded me of a cake with leaf patterns that I saw at a festival.

The flowered earrings just reminded me of those last days of spring before summer hits. The teal green and pastel pinks are very on trend and the gold just adds the perfect back ground.

Last but not least my bronze circles of loveliness. Strangely the reminded me of the late 70's . I can just see big Afros, bell bottoms and sheer over sized shirts. Power to tha people yall lol.

As these were sale items I am unsure if they will be in store or online anymore but have a look.

Until next time lovelies I bid thee adieu.

Just in the NYX of time: NYX Cream Blushes haul

Woooh super excited about my NYX cream blushes. I originally set out to buy my friends little sister a few bits and bobs for her birthday as she is always asking what stuff I use.  Along with her gifts I ended up buying the 6 gorgeous blushes you see below. *swoons* I have a few NYX products knocking about but haven't used them for a while so it was good to return and find them as excellent as ever.

They don't look like cream blushes in the pic but they are super creamy and glide on your face easily giving you a nice dewy  finish. A little goes a long way people!! I don't often like too much overt sparkle in my makeup but Tickled and Diva have just a glimmer and aren't over powering. I have gone for really striking yet subtle and natural blushes in what I am calling my Au naturel dewy girl bopping about town collection. Sometimes just having that hint of flushed colour is more alluring and striking to the overall look than the whole hog.
I got my haul on eBay from a store called Joys cosmetics, who are based in America.  They have great prices and a varied selection. Plus they give you a free gift when you spend over $30 yay for my apricot lipgloss (read my mind). Awesome news for people in the UK as everything is pretty cheap for us over there. It is really easy to get carried away so just ensure you know your rates before you splurge but once you add p&p it works out cheaper than the UK most times if you buy in bulk.

I must also add that their delivery was incredibly quick for international postage. I have ordered things in this very country, practically down the road that have taken longer to arrive -_-. I have already placed my next order! A definite must have is the orange blush which i will treat myself to at a later date. I don't know what I was thinking not ordering it this time. A slight slip of the hand had me ordering golden instead but c'est la vie eh!

Pay day spring /summer fashion mood board

What better way to treat yourself  for being fierce, fabu and bossy? This is pretty much what I am feeling this month. I have already bought a few as my staples for the next couple of months. I am a little too happy that all of these are affordable and are very wearable bits and bobs.
I really love accessories and statement peices that can transform an outfit and are transferable from day tonight etc. They are also good if you are on a budget as nothing on here is above £50 and some are on sale!
I have a thing where I mix and match my clothes all year round so I will rock all my stuff together. It might be laziness but that's how I do and it also means I have a bigger style collection to work with.
The colours, textures and patterns really speak to me plus it screams a big fuck you to the rubbish weather we are having in London (apart from today randomly).

Top tip: set yourself a budget for your season must haves, after statement buys purchase accessories. Unless your a student then spend, spend, spend and then eat miso soup for a month lol
